• Terminal speed limit is 15mph
  • TWIC Cards are mandatory for ALL persons entering the Facility; NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Anyone entering the terminal must obey instructions of Maher safety/yard personnel
  • Obey all posted terminal traffic and safety regulations
  • Travel in designated roadways only
  • Enter and exit the terminal through designated gates only
  • Do not drive through the grounded container stack areas with personal vehicles (“POVS”)
  • Park in designated areas only both in container yard and stringpiece (vessel berthing area)
  • No motorcycles or bicycles permitted on terminal at any time
  • Pedestrians must walk in designated areas only
  • No recreational activity of any kind permitted on terminal (leisurely walking, jogging, fishing etc.)
  • Visitors / vendors must sign in at security booth each visit
  • Steamship line personnel and vessel agents are responsible and must ensure that their visitors and vessel’s crew members are aware of the terminal rules
  • Anyone whose job requires them to work in the container yard, including truck drivers, must wear a reflective safety vest
  • All personnel performing work or visiting vessel(s) on the string piece must wear a hard hat and reflective safety vest
  • No stopping or standing on rail tracks
  • Trains have the right of away. Never try to beat the train at crossings
  • Do not climb over stopped or moving train
  • No taxicabs permitted on terminal
  • No videotaping or photography permitted without written permission from Maher Terminals management
  • ALL terminal equipment has the right of way; e.g. straddle carriers, lift equipment, etc.
  • All private automobiles (POVs) must yield to terminal equipment. Maintain a safe distance behind terminal equipment and NEVER attempt to pass terminal equipment
  • All private vehicles must have a working amber strobe light on the roof or visible location on their vehicle
  • All persons performing work in the container yard, including truck drivers, may not wear anything that may impair their ability to hear, including headphones or earpieces

Vendors may be required to execute a “terminal access agreement” and provide certificates of insurance. Visitors and vendors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and ethical manner. Violators will be subject to loss of terminal access privileges. Maher Terminals will not be responsible for any damage or theft of any vehicle or property. All vehicles are subject to search upon entering and exiting terminal.
