GOVERNANCE: Drive change by tracking Maher’s sustainability transition contributions
At Maher Terminals, we are aware of the environmental and social challenges that are present in today’s world. Maher recognizes that a comprehensive governance structure allows for better performance. Maher regularly updates its board of its initiatives, such as:
- Defining and reviewing Maher‘s sustainability commitments, goals, as well as ESG policies, procedures, initiatives and their relevance regarding new laws/regulations;
- Describing progress against goals and targets addressing climate-related issues to ensure completion;
- Reviewing the reports on all ESG issues / developments impacting the company;
- Informing all stakeholders of Maher’s sustainability progress.
Maher Terminals is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of cybersecurity. We recognize that robust cybersecurity measures are essential to maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of our operations. We have implemented several key initiatives to strengthen our cybersecurity framework:
- Our Cybersecurity Incident Response Program (CIRP) aligns with industry best practices and is designed to protect our assets, data, and systems from positional threats.
- Mandatory cyber training for all employees is conducted at least quarterly to ensure everyone is aware of the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices.
- Conducting bi-weekly email phishing tests for all employees to identify, mitigate, and reduce risks associated with phishing attacks.
- Acknowledgement and participation in Cybersecurity Awareness Month annually
- Participation in a cyber resiliency program to ensure readily deployable hardware, software, and managed services are available in the event of a cyber incident.
Maher Terminals is deeply committed to ethical business practices. We are guided by a Code of Ethics that emphasizes integrity, respect, safety, and excellence in all aspects of our operations. Elements of our ethics program include:
- Robust ethics policy training to equip employees with the knowledge they need to uphold Maher’s core vales: integrity, respect, safety, and excellence.
- An incident reporting structure designed to ensure that good faith concerns are addressed in a confidential manner. Maher Terminals does not tolerate retaliation in accordance with whistleblower protections including New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act.
- To prevent conflicts of interest and ensure transparency, Maher has established multiple processes to ensure oversight and accountability to effectively eliminate the possibility of self-dealing.
