In the event of a strike by the International Longshoremen’s Association that closes the terminal gate, thereby preventing the delivery by Maher Terminals of import cargoes on the terminal, Maher Terminals will make temporary accommodations to its customers with respect to the application of the Free Time and Demurrage provisions contained in its tariff.

Accordingly, should a strike occur, Maher Terminals decided that:

  • all loaded import containers in storage on the terminal on October 1, 2024 that are in free time status will continue in free time during the strike; and,
  • and those containers in demurrage on October 1, 2024 will not be subject to additional demurrage charges during the strike.

If a strike does occur, the above accommodations will be in effect for the duration of such strike, and terminate once such strike ends.
